New Jersey Devils Land Anthony Mantha on 2-Year, $9.5M Deal

The New Jersey Devils have locked up veteran forward Anthony Mantha, inking the 31-year-old to a two-year contract totaling $9.5 million, the team announced Wednesday.

Under the deal, Mantha will take home $5.4 million during the 2026-27 season, followed by $4.1 million in 2027-28.

The big winger arrives in New Jersey fresh off a career milestone — his first 30-goal season. Playing for Pittsburgh in 2025-26, he put together an impressive campaign with 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 total points across 81 games.

Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Mantha brings considerable size and experience to the Devils’ roster. Over 588 career games with five different NHL teams, he has accumulated 367 points — 179 goals and 188 assists. In the playoffs, however, he has found the scoresheet less often, recording just seven assists and no goals in 20 postseason appearances.

Originally from Quebec, Mantha was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the 2013 NHL Draft, going 20th overall.
