NEW YORK (AP) — Three basketball stars have been chosen to grace the covers of NBA 2K27, with the announcement coming Wednesday. San Antonio Spurs standout Victor Wembanyama, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, and former NBA MVP Derrick Rose were all named as cover athletes for the highly anticipated video game.
Each athlete is tied to a specific edition of the game. Wembanyama will appear on the Standard Edition, Clark on the Deluxe Edition, and Rose on the limited-time Ultra Edition.
The Standard Edition goes on sale broadly on September 4, while the Deluxe and Ultra editions will be available earlier through early access starting August 28.
Wembanyama described landing the cover spot as “a dream come true.” Clark noted that the honor carries real weight, saying being on the cover “is special because this game reaches fans all over the world.”
For Rose, this marks a return to the franchise — he previously appeared on the cover of NBA 2K13. He framed the opportunity as a chance to connect with the next generation of athletes. “This is a chance to inspire young athletes to stay obsessed with the game,” Rose said. “To show them that when you put in the countless hours of hard work, it rewards you.”
