A spokesperson for Iran’s Revolutionary Guards delivered a blunt warning on Saturday, stating that Britain would become a “definite and legitimate target” should it choose to back the United States in any armed conflict with Iran, according to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB.
The spokesperson made clear the threat was not limited to Britain alone. Any nation — including Gulf states — that aligned itself with the U.S. during a potential conflict would be regarded as a legitimate target, the spokesperson said.
Adding context to the warning, the spokesperson pointed out that U.S. bombers had recently made use of airfields located in Britain, suggesting that such military cooperation would not go unnoticed by Tehran.
