Former China Development Bank President Faces Anti-Corruption Probe

China’s anti-corruption watchdog announced Sunday that the former president of the China Development Bank, Ouyang Weimin, is now under investigation for alleged serious violations of party discipline and the law.

The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection confirmed the probe, which marks the latest high-profile case to emerge from the state-owned financial institution.

The investigation comes on the heels of a related case from 2024, when a former vice president of the same bank was convicted of accepting bribes and handed a 12-year prison sentence along with financial penalties.
