
A former top federal immigration official is offering his assessment of the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration crackdown, following a series of fatal incidents involving federal agents.
Gil Kerlikowske, who served as commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection during the Obama administration, spoke with NPR’s Scott Detrow about the recent string of deadly shootings carried out by federal immigration agents.
The interview comes as the administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement efforts continue to draw national attention, with questions mounting over the use of lethal force by agents in the field.
