A federal animal and plant health agency has announced plans to seek updated approval for an information collection program connected to rules designed to stop dangerous citrus diseases from spreading across the country.
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service published the notice in keeping with the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. The agency is requesting both a revision to and an extension of approval for the information collection tied to its regulations.
Those regulations are focused on preventing the spread of citrus canker, citrus greening, and the Asian citrus psyllid — an insect that acts as a carrier for citrus greening — into parts of the United States that have not yet been affected by these threats.
