WASHINGTON — The director of the nation’s federal artificial intelligence testing agency has stepped down after holding the position for just three months, according to a Commerce Department spokesperson.
Chris Fall, who led the U.S. Center for AI Standards and Innovation at the Department of Commerce, submitted his resignation, the spokesperson confirmed to Reuters on July 20.
Filling the role on a temporary basis will be Arvind Raman, who currently heads the Commerce Department office responsible for overseeing the AI testing institute. Raman previously served as the dean of engineering at Purdue University.
