The Columbus Blue Jackets secured a new contract with goaltender Jet Greaves on Thursday, agreeing to a three-year deal worth $15 million and sidestepping what would have been a salary arbitration hearing.
Greaves, 25, had filed for arbitration before the NHL’s July 5 deadline and was set to appear at a hearing that same Thursday in Toronto. Instead, both sides came to terms before it came to that.
“Jet is a high-character, talented and athletic goaltender who has become an important part of our hockey club,” said general manager and president of hockey operations Don Waddell. “Our intent always was to get a deal done to ensure he remains a Blue Jacket and we are thrilled that we were able to do so.”
During his first full NHL season in 2024-25, Greaves posted a record of 26-19-9 with two shutouts, a 2.60 goals-against average, and a .908 save percentage across 55 appearances.
Since making his NHL debut with Columbus back in April 2023, Greaves has compiled an overall record of 36-28-11 with four shutouts, a 2.61 goals-against average, and a .913 save percentage over 76 career games.
