US Broiler Hatchery Report: Eggs Set Up 2%, Chicks Placed Up 1%

The latest figures from the United States broiler hatchery industry show a small but steady increase in production activity.

According to the most recent report, the number of broiler-type eggs set in incubators across the country climbed 2 percent compared to the previous period. At the same time, broiler-type chicks placed with producers rose by 1 percent.

These numbers serve as an early indicator of future chicken meat supplies, as eggs set today become the broilers that reach processing facilities in the weeks ahead.
