Tropical Storm Bertha has moved into waters south of the southern Louisiana coast, according to the latest update from forecasters early Thursday morning.
As of 1:00 AM CDT on Thursday, July 23, the center of the storm was located near coordinates 29.1 degrees north latitude and 91.6 degrees west longitude. Bertha was moving westward at a speed of 12 miles per hour.
The storm’s minimum central pressure was recorded at 1003 millibars, with maximum sustained winds of approximately 45 miles per hour.
With the storm’s movement away from the coastline, forecasters announced that tropical storm warnings have been discontinued for portions of both the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf coasts.
