Tropical Storm Bertha is on a westward track south of Louisiana and forecasters say it is expected to make landfall along the northwestern Gulf Coast on Thursday.
According to the National Hurricane Center, as of 4:00 AM CDT on Thursday, July 23, the center of Bertha was positioned near coordinates 29.0 degrees north, 92.2 degrees west. The storm was moving west at a forward speed of 13 miles per hour.
Bertha’s minimum central pressure was recorded at 1003 millibars, with maximum sustained winds of approximately 45 miles per hour at the time of the report.
