SU Student Broadcasters Launch Careers in Local Media

Three Salisbury University graduates who got their start with the campus’s student streaming operation are now making their mark in local media — and they recently returned to their roots to watch the next generation carry on the tradition.

On the evening of February 11, 2026, Salisbury University hosted a basketball doubleheader against longtime rival Christopher Newport inside the Maggs Physical Activities Center. A full crew of Sea Gull Sports Network student workers handled broadcast duties and game operations for the event, which drew more than 1,200 unique viewers throughout the night.

Among those present at Maggs Gym that evening were three recent SU graduates who first developed their broadcasting skills with SGSN before going on to land positions at local media outlets. Their return offered a firsthand look at how the student network continues to serve as a launching pad for careers in the industry.
