Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Until 8 PM for Parts of the Region

The National Weather Service office out of Mount Holly, New Jersey has put a Severe Thunderstorm Watch into effect, issued at 12:52 PM EDT on July 28 and running through 8:00 PM EDT that same evening.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop across the watch area. Residents should remain alert and be ready to take shelter quickly if a warning is issued for their location.

Forecasters urge people to stay informed and monitor local weather updates throughout the afternoon and evening hours. Have a safety plan in place and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities until the watch has expired or been cancelled.

TV Delmarva will continue to track this developing weather situation and provide updates as they become available.
