Miami Marlins Minor League Pitcher Handed 80-Game Ban After Failed Drug Test

Miami Marlins minor league pitcher Eiver Mosquera is facing an 80-game suspension after a drug test came back positive for Boldenone, a banned performance-enhancing substance.

The 19-year-old appeared in 12 games this season — including nine starts — split between Class-A Jupiter and the rookie-level Florida Complex League Marlins. He posted a 3-3 record with a 4.50 ERA, striking out 30 batters and issuing 16 walks across 38 innings of work.

Mosquera was brought into the Marlins organization in 2024 through an international signing out of Venezuela, with the team investing $150,000 in the young pitcher.
