Top-ranked professional golfer Brooke Henderson has announced she is engaged to Minnesota Twins pitching prospect Ricky Castro, sharing the exciting news with fans through an Instagram post on Sunday.
The announcement came just one week after Henderson narrowly missed capturing the Evian Championship title, falling to South Korea’s Haeran Ryu in a playoff. The couple’s engagement officially took place two days after that tournament.
The couple’s joint post captured the joy of the moment: “Engaged! 7/14/26. The beginning of forever. We are beyond excited and blessed to announce our engagement with one another! God is so good for giving us each other!”
Henderson and Castro began their relationship in March 2025 after crossing paths in Naples, Florida, where Henderson owns a home.
Henderson, 28, is one of the most accomplished golfers on the LPGA Tour, having claimed 14 victories including two major championships — the 2016 Women’s PGA Championship and the 2022 Evian Championship. The Canadian star added to her legacy with a win on home soil at the CPKC Women’s Open in Mississauga, Ontario, in August 2025.
Castro, 26, is a right-handed pitcher currently competing at the Triple-A level with the St. Paul Saints. In 10 appearances this season — including four starts — he holds a 2-1 record with a 4.13 ERA.
