Italian golfer Stefano Mazzoli made it official on Wednesday, accepting his PGA Tour membership just one day before his scheduled tee time at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota.
Mazzoli earned his way into the field at TPC Twin Cities after pulling off a remarkable win at the Corales Puntacana Championship — only his third-ever start on the PGA Tour. The 29-year-old sealed the deal with a 24-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole Sunday, finishing one stroke ahead of the field in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Because Mazzoli had not yet held PGA Tour membership at the time of his win, he was granted a one-year Tour exemption. The victory also makes him eligible to compete in both the 2027 Players Championship and the 2027 PGA Championship.
A first-year player on the DP World Tour, Mazzoli only earned his promotion from the HotelPlanner Tour last year. Reflecting on the whirlwind journey, he said after his first PGA Tour win: “It’s been a rollercoaster, this past year.”
In related Tour news, South Africa’s Casey Jarvis accepted Special Temporary Membership on the PGA Tour, making him eligible for unlimited sponsor exemptions for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old Jarvis has posted two wins on the DP World Tour this season and hit the threshold for the Special Temporary Membership after tying for sixth at The Open Championship.
