  • *Update – Suspects Arrested* State Police Investigating Smoke Shop Burglary

    Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Tramez Bundick, 18-year-old Jayden Hack, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male, all of Millsboro, Delaware, for burglary and related offenses following two burglary investigations last month in Kent and Sussex Counties.

    On July 24, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers from the Ocean View Police Department and troopers responded to an alarm activation at Marley’s Smoke Shop, located at 35831 Atlantic Avenue. When the officers arrived, they discovered that the business had been forcibly entered through the front door. They learned that four unidentified suspects, all wearing gloves and concealing their faces, broke into the store. Once inside, the suspects ransacked the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise. The suspects then fled the scene in two unknown vehicles.

    On the same day, at approximately 3:03 a.m., troopers responded to Harrington Pawn, located at 17750 South Dupont Highway in Harrington, for a report of an attempted burglary. When troopers arrived, they discovered that four unidentified suspects, all wearing gloves and concealing their faces, tried to forcibly enter the business but were unsuccessful. It was later learned that one of the suspects was in possession of an AR-style rifle during the two incidents.

    During the investigation, detectives learned that the two vehicles used in both incidents, a Hyundai Tucson and a Kia Sportage, were both were reported stolen through Millsboro Police Department. On July 24, Ocean City, Maryland Police Department located the stolen Tucson on North Baltimore Avenue and on July 25 the Sportage was located at Parson’s Farm Produce on Armory Road in Dagsboro, severely damaged by fire.

    Through collaborative investigative means, detectives identified Bundick, Hack, and the 16 and 17-year-old males, as the suspects in both incidents and obtained warrants for their arrest.


    On July 28, 2025, Bundick was arrested and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $169,050 cash bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Tramez Bundick, 18-year-old Jayden Hack, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male, all of Millsboro, Delaware, for burglary and related offenses following two burglary investigations last month in Kent and Sussex Counties.

    On July 24, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers from the Ocean View Police Department and troopers responded to an alarm activation at Marley’s Smoke Shop, located at 35831 Atlantic Avenue. When the officers arrived, they discovered that the business had been forcibly entered through the front door. They learned that four unidentified suspects, all wearing gloves and concealing their faces, broke into the store. Once inside, the suspects ransacked the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise. The suspects then fled the scene in two unknown vehicles.

    On the same day, at approximately 3:03 a.m., troopers responded to Harrington Pawn, located at 17750 South Dupont Highway in Harrington, for a report of an attempted burglary. When troopers arrived, they discovered that four unidentified suspects, all wearing gloves and concealing their faces, tried to forcibly enter the business but were unsuccessful. It was later learned that one of the suspects was in possession of an AR-style rifle during the two incidents.

    During the investigation, detectives learned that the two vehicles used in both incidents, a Hyundai Tucson and a Kia Sportage, were both were reported stolen through Millsboro Police Department. On July 24, Ocean City, Maryland Police Department located the stolen Tucson on North Baltimore Avenue and on July 25 the Sportage was located at Parson’s Farm Produce on Armory Road in Dagsboro, severely damaged by fire.

    Through collaborative investigative means, detectives identified Bundick, Hack, and the 16 and 17-year-old males, as the suspects in both incidents and obtained warrants for their arrest.


    On July 28, 2025, Bundick was arrested and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $169,050 cash bond.

  • State Police Detectives Investigating Shooting in Lewes

    Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Lewes early this morning that left one woman injured.

    On August 8, 2025, at approximately 12:03 a.m., troopers responded to the 17000 block of Evette Lane in Lewes for a report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown suspect fired an unknown number of shots that hit an occupied residence. A 40-year-old woman inside was hit by gunfire and taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. A man and a child were also in the residence at the time, but they were not injured. The incident remains under investigation.

    Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this case to contact Detective A. Stimac by calling 302-752-3791.   • State Police Homicide Detectives Investigating Murder-Suicide in Frederica

    The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is investigating a murder-suicide that occurred last night in Frederica which resulted in the loss of three lives.

    On August 6, 2025, at approximately 10:57 p.m., troopers responded to Lorna Drive in the Highpoint Mobile Home Park in Frederica, for a welfare check. When troopers arrived, they found an 81-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man with apparent gunshot wounds, and a 53-year-old woman, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. They were all pronounced deceased at the scene. The identities of the victims and suspect are being withheld until their families are notified.

    The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating this incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective A.   • State Police Investigating Menacing Incident in Bridgeville; Troopers Asking for Public’s Help Locating Suspect

    Delaware State Police continues to investigate a menacing incident that occurred yesterday in Bridgeville and are asking the public’s help with locating the suspect, 30-year-old John Gleysteen of Bridgeville, Delaware.

    On August 5, 2025, at approximately 9:33 a.m., troopers responded to Handy Road near Craft Road in Bridgeville, for a report of an assault. When troopers arrived, they learned that a man, identified as John Gleysteen, arrived at the location on a tractor, collided with Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDot) tractor that was mowing grass, and argued with the DelDot employee. Gleysteen left the scene but returned a short time later, removed a chainsaw from his truck, and placed the running chainsaw near the tire of the tractor. Gleysteen then forcefully entered the cab of the DelDot tractor, assaulted the victim, damaged his property, and fled the scene. The victim was not injured.

    Troopers obtained a warrant for Gleysteen’s arrest and continue working to locate him. He is described as a white male, approximately 5’10”, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen driving a silver Ford F-250 with Delaware vanity registration SUPRTUF.

  • State Police Arrest Lewes Man for Reckless Endangering and Gun Offenses in Lewes

    Delaware State Police have arrested 20-year-old Elijah Bush of Lewes, Delaware for reckless endangering and gun offenses following a shooting that occurred in Lewes last night.

    On August 4, 2025, at approximately 11:04 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of Mr. P’s Pizza, located at 1004 Kings Highway in Lewes. During the investigation, detectives learned that an 18-year-old man drove to the restaurant to pick up a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old female. When he arrived, he saw the suspect, later identified as Elijah Bush, wearing a ski mask and talking to one of the females. As the females got into the victim’s vehicle, Bush pulled a gun and fired several shots, striking the vehicle as it left the parking lot. No one was injured. Bush was taken into custody a short time later without incident.


    Bush was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,100 cash bond.

  • State Police Investigating Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Seaford

    Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred last week in Seaford that left a child dead.

    On July 27, 2025, at approximately 4:28 p.m., a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on Coverdale Road, approaching the stop sign at Hastings Farm Road. At the same time, a Toyota Tundra was traveling eastbound on Hastings Farm Road, approaching Coverdale Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Corolla failed to stop at the stop sign and entered the Tundra’s path of travel. As a result, the front of the Tundra struck the passenger’s side of Corolla.

    A rear seat passenger in the Corolla, 6-year-old Keydan Garcia-Garcia from Bridgeville, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries where on August 1, 2025, he died from his injuries. The driver of the Corolla, a 44-year-old woman from Bridgeville, Delaware was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A front seat passenger, a 15-year-old female from Bridgeville, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries.

    The driver of the Tundra, a 45-year-old man from Georgetown, Delaware, refused transport to the hospital.

    On August 1, 2025, members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on 10000 block of Old Furnace Road in Seaford. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of Robert Mumford for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. During the search warrant, two people, including Mumford, were detained in the residence. A child was also in the residence at the time.

    A search of the residence and vehicles led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Approximately 43.38 grams of heroin
    • Approximately 16.87 grams of powder cocaine
    • Approximately 11.04 grams of crack cocaine
    • Approximately 26.81 grams of marijuana
    • .22 caliber ammunition

  • State Police Detectives Investigating Shooting in Rehoboth Beach

    Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night in Rehoboth Beach.

    On August 1, 2025, at approximately 10:59 p.m., troopers responded to Oyster House Road in Rehoboth Beach for a report of shots fired. When troopers arrived, they searched the area and found a Hyundai Genesis that had been struck by gunfire. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Hyundai was traveling on Oyster House Road when unknown suspects in an unknown vehicle that was traveling behind it fired an unknown number of shots that struck the Hyundai. Two adults were in the car at the time, and no one was injured. The incident remains under investigation.

    Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed or has information regarding this case to contact Detective P. LaPlaca by calling 302-752-3798.   • State Police Arrest Two Men for Gun and Drug Charges Following Pursuit in Bridgeville

    Delaware State Police have arrested 28-year-old Tracey Johnson of Harrington, Delaware, and 26-year-old Joseph Davis of Georgetown, Delaware, for gun and drug offenses following a pursuit in Bridgeville.

    On July 30, 2025, at approximately 3:05 p.m., members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force saw a black Dodge Charger with a registration violation traveling northbound on Coverdale Road near Seashore Highway. Detectives initiated a traffic stop on the Dodge, which was occupied by a black male driver, and a black male passenger. The Dodge failed to stop and sped away on Seashore Highway. Due to the Dodge traveling in a reckless manner, the pursuit was discontinued for the safety of other motorists. In the ensuing investigation, members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force responded to the registered owner of the Dodge’s residence on Genesis Lane in Harrington. When detectives arrived, they saw two men, identified as the driver Tracey Johnson, and passenger Joseph Davis, attempting to cover the Dodge with a tarp. As detectives made contact with them, they saw Davis place an item under a landscaping trailer. Johnson and Davis were detained without incident. During a search of Davis, detectives found approximately 1.95 grams of heroin. During a search of Johnson, detectives found the key for the Dodge. Subsequently, detectives conducted a search of the Dodge, and the area under the landscaping trailer, which led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine
    • Sawed off .12-gauge shotgun
    • Several rounds of .12-gauge ammunition
    • AR-15 upper receiver
    • AR-15 magazine
    • Several rounds of 5.56 caliber ammunition
    • Several rounds of .38 caliber ammunition
    • Approximately 27.67 grams of acetaminophen
    • Approximately 10.70 grams of a combination xylazine/acetaminophen mixture
    • Digital scales

    Johnson and Davis were arrested, and taken to Troop 3, where they were each charged with multiple crimes.


    Johnson, who is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $89,500 cash bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested a 47-year-old Steve Pagan from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for felony gun and drug charges following a search warrant in Rehoboth Beach this morning.

    On July 31, 2025, members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, and the Rehoboth Beach Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of Steve Pagan for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. During the search warrant, Pagan was detained in the residence. Two children were also in the residence at the time of the search warrant.

    A search of the residence and vehicles led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Approximately 22.21 grams of cocaine

    Delaware State Police have arrested 52-year-old Gary Jefferson of Georgetown, Delaware, 26-year-old Jamie Reed of Milford, Delaware, and 54-year-old Paul Sample of Georgetown, Delaware, for felony drug and related charges following a search warrant in Georgetown yesterday.

    On July 29, 2025, members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and the Georgetown Police Department, executed a search warrant at a property on the 20000 block of Savannah Road in Georgetown. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of Gary Jefferson and Paul Sample for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the property. During the search warrant, 18 people were detained including Jefferson, Reed, and Sample.

    A search of the people detained, vehicles, and the property led to the discovery of the following items:

    • $723.00 in suspected drug proceeds
    • Approximately .19 grams of crack cocaine
    • Approximately 26 pills of medroxyprogesterone
    • Approximately 6 pills of valacyclovir
    • Approximately 69 pills of bupropion
    • Approximately 12 pills of gabapentin
    • Approximately 22 pills of tadalafil

    On July 27, 2025, at approximately 9:14 p.m., a trooper on patrol saw a Toyota GR86 traveling eastbound on John J. Williams Highway near Banks Road, east of Long Neck, at a high rate of speed. The trooper initiated a traffic stop as the Toyota turned southbound on Sloan Road. The driver failed to stop and turned off the Toyota’s headlights. As the Toyota continued southbound on Sloan Road, it failed to negotiate a curve and overturned. Troopers contacted the occupants of the vehicle, identified as Jeremy Rodriguez Sepulveda and Tina Berry. Both were taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. In the ensuing investigation, Berry told troopers that she was driving the Toyota, but it was later determined that Rodriguez Sepulveda was driving during the pursuit.

    After being released from the hospital, Rodriguez Sepulveda and Berry were arrested and taken to Troop 7, where they were each charged with multiple offenses.

  • Search Warrant in Millsboro Leads to Arrests for Gun and Drug Offenses

    Delaware State Police have arrested 29-year-old Jessica Beebe, of Finksburg, Maryland, and 38-year-old Clyde Garrison of Millsboro, Delaware, for felony gun and drug charges following a search warrant at a Millsboro residence.

    On July 15, 2025, members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force and Sussex County Drug Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on the 27000 block of Trinity Road in Millsboro. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of Clyde Garrison and Jessica Beebe for distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. Before executing the search warrant, detectives saw a gray Subaru Crosstrek, driven by Beebe, leave the residence and fail to signal at John J. Williams Highway and Indian Mission Road. Detectives pulled the Subaru over and Beebe was detained after a drug K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics. During a search of the Subaru, detectives found approximately 3.10 grams of methamphetamine.

    A search of the residence, and a greenhouse on the property, led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Approximately 268.90 grams of methamphetamine
    • 10 marijuana plants
    • .22 caliber handgun
    • Assorted caliber ammunition
    • Digital scales
    • Drug paraphernalia

    Beebe was arrested and taken to Troop 7, where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released after posting a $18,501 secured bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 21-year-old Deonte King of Lincoln, Delaware, for multiple felony offenses stemming from a shooting that occurred last month near the Slaughter Beach Memorial Volunteer Fire Company.

    On June 12, 2025, at approximately 7:14 p.m., troopers responded to the public access area adjacent to 359 Bay Avenue in Milford for a reported shooting. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 32-year-old man from Dover, Delaware, was attending a party at the pavilion behind the fire company when multiple masked suspects arrived and began firing multiple rounds at the attendees. As the victim attempted to flee, he was struck in the lower extremity. The suspects fled the area before police arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated, and later released.

    Through investigative means, Troop 4 Criminal Investigation Detectives discovered the suspects fled in a light-colored Honda Accord with Delaware registration, and identified Tyree Johnson, and Tymere Harmon as 2 of the suspects involved in the shooting. Detectives later identified Deonte King as another suspect involved in the shooting and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

    On July 17, 2025, King turned himself in at Troop 3 and was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $234,500 cash bond.

  • Search Warrant in Camden Leads to Arrest for Gun and Drug Offenses

    Delaware State Police have arrested a 17-year-old male from Camden, Delaware, for felony gun and drug charges following a search warrant yesterday in Camden.

    On July 16, 2025, members of the Kent County Drug Unit, Kent County Governor’s Task Force, and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on East Camden-Wyoming Avenue in Camden. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of the 17-year-old male for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. During the search warrant, the 17-year-old was detained in the residence.

    A search of the residence led to the discovery of the following items:

    • 2 9mm Glock “ghost guns”
    • Polymer Glock lower receiver
    • 3D printed handgun switch
    • 9mm ammunition
    • Approximately 0.24 grams of heroin
    • Approximately 0.10 grams of crack cocaine
    • Digital scale
    • Drug paraphernalia

    The 17-year-old was arrested and taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center.

  • *Update – Suspects Arrested* State Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting in Rodney Village

    Delaware State Police have arrested 41-year-old Tyrell Clark and a 16-year-old female, both of Dover, Delaware, for multiple felony offenses following a drive-by shooting in Rodney Village that occurred in May.

    On May 3, 2025, at approximately 4:51 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on the 300 block of Samuel Paynter Drive for a report of shots fired. The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle pulled up in front of the home and fired multiple gunshots before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.

    Through investigative means, detectives identified Tyrell Clark and the 16-year-old female as suspects involved in the shooting and obtained warrants for their arrest.

    On June 27, 2025, Clark, who is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, was arrested, and taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $83,000 cash bond.

  • Troopers Arrest Selbyville Man for 6th Offense DUI in Lincoln

    Delaware State Police have arrested 65-year-old Luis Rodriguez of Selbyville, Delaware, for 6th offense felony DUI in Lincoln.

    On July 15, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., troopers assigned to the Highway Safety Unit responded to Dupont Boulevard near Morgan Drive in Lincoln for a welfare check. When troopers arrived, they found a silver Lexus RX350 in the median strip, and the driver having what appeared to be a medical emergency. During their contact with the driver, identified as Luis Rodriguez, he showed signs of impairment and was taken to an area hospital by ambulance. At the hospital, troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and after Rodriguez was released from the hospital, he was arrested for driving under the influence. A computer check showed that Rodriguez had five prior DUI-related convictions. During an inventory search of the SUV, before it was towed, troopers found approximately .06 grams of heroin.

    Rodriguez was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $8,202 secured bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 19-year-old Christian Broaddus of New Castle, Delaware, and 20-year-old Khanasia Nash of Wilmington, Delaware for multiple offenses stemming from an attack on a Food Lion employee that occurred last month in New Castle.

    On June 20, 2025, at approximately 1:31 p.m., troopers responded to Food Lion, located at 1200 Beaverbrook Plaza, New Castle, for a report of an assault involving multiple suspects. In the ensuing investigation, troopers learned that the 18-year-old victim was working at the register when he was approached by 8 unknown suspects and attacked. The victim was kicked and punched by 6 of the suspects, while one of the suspects stood next to the group with a baby in her arms, and another suspect appeared to be filming the attack. During the assault, the victim fell to the ground, and lost consciousness as the suspects continued to kick and punch him. While the suspects ran out of the store, witnesses reported one of the suspects threatened to return to the store and kill the victim. The suspects fled from the shopping center in 2 vehicles, which were identified as a dark-colored Nissan Murano, and a dark-colored Ford Taurus, both with Delaware registration.

    Through investigative means, troopers identified Broaddus and Nash as the other two suspects involved in the assault and obtained warrants for their arrest.

  • *Update – Suspect Arrested* State Police Investigating Armed Robbery Outside Newark Dunkin’

    Delaware State Police have arrested 31-year-old Cortez Crawford of Wilmington, Delaware, for an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month outside a Dunkin’ in Newark.

    On July 5, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., troopers responded to Dunkin’, located at 48 Geoffrey Drive, for a reported robbery. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 32-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk outside the business when an unknown male suspect approached her, placed a knife to her throat, and demanded her belongings. The victim complied and handed over her purse to the suspect. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

    Through investigative means, detectives identified Cortez Crawford as the suspect in the armed robbery and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

    On July 15, 2025, Crawford, who was in custody at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $40,000 cash bond.

  • Search Warrant in Milford Leads to Arrests for Drug Offenses

    Delaware State Police have arrested 41-year-old Garron Wescott of Ellendale, Delaware, and 31-year-old Jasman Gibbs of Milford, Delaware, for felony drug and related charges following a search warrant in Milford this weekend.

    On July 12, 2025, members of the Kent County Drug Unit, Kent County Governor’s Task Force, and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on Valley Drive in Milford. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of Wescott for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. During the search warrant, Wescott and Gibbs were detained in the residence. Three children were also in the residence at the time.

    A search of the residence led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Approximately 177.50 grams of fentanyl
    • Approximately 944.91 grams of cocaine
    • Digital scales
    • Drug paraphernalia

    Wescott was arrested and taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $129,500 cash bond.

  • *Update – Suspect Arrested* Detectives Investigating Claymont M&T Bank Robbery

    The Delaware State Police have arrested 66-year-old Gregory Davis of Wilmington, Delaware for a bank robbery that occurred in August 2024 at the M&T Bank in Claymont.

    On August 5, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m., troopers responded to the M&T Bank, located at 3530 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, for a report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown white male suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to the bank teller. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Troopers attempted to locate the suspect in the surrounding area but were unable to find him.

    Through investigative means, Troop 2 Robbery Detectives identified Gregory Davis as the suspect responsible for the robbery and obtained a warrant for his arrest for multiple felony charges.

    On July 14, 2025, Davis was arrested and taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $12,000 unsecured bond. He was ultimately committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $50,000 cash bond for violation of probation.

  • State Police Investigating Single-Vehicle Fatal Crash Near Bridgeville

    Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred this morning near Bridgeville that left one man dead.

    On July 12, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., a Buick Century was traveling southbound on Wilson Farm Road approaching Cannon Road at an apparent high rate of speed. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Buick proceeded past the stop sign at Cannon Road and exited the east side of Conrail Road. The Buick then re-entered the road, rotated clockwise, exited the west side of Conrail Road, struck a concrete barrier, and overturned.

    The driver, a 27-year-old man from Bridgeville, was not properly restrained at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

    Conrail Road, Wilson Farm Road, and Cannon Road were closed for approximately three and a half hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

  • State Police Detectives Investigating Shooting in Dover

    Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred yesterday morning in Dover.

    On July 11, 2025, at approximately 5:20 a.m., troopers responded to Washington Place in Dover for a report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, they learned that unknown suspects fired an unknown number of shots that hit an occupied house. Five adults and three children were inside at the time, and no one was injured. The incident remains under investigation.

  • State Police Investigating Fatal Four-Vehicle Crash in Milford

    Delaware State Police are investigating a four-vehicle fatal crash that occurred this morning in Milford that left one man dead.

    On July 11, 2025, at approximately 7:33 a.m., a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on Coastal Highway, approaching Bakerfield Road. At the same time, a Chrysler Town and Country minivan was traveling southbound, in the left lane, on Coastal Highway, approaching Bakerfield Road. A Subaru Forester was traveling in the right lane behind the minivan and a Chrysler 200 was traveling in the left lane, behind the Subaru. The preliminary investigation revealed that as the Tahoe attempted to negotiate the gradual curve, it entered the center median, rotated counterclockwise, entered the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway, and into the path of the minivan. As a result, the right front of the Tahoe struck the left front of the minivan, separating the engine from the Tahoe. After the collision, the front of the Subaru struck the rear of the minivan, and the Chrysler struck the detached engine.

    The driver of the Town and Country, a 71-year-old man from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

    The driver of the Tahoe, a 31-year-old man from Frederica, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries.

    The driver of the Forester, a 36-year-old woman from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    The driver of the 200, a 34-year-old woman from Dover, Delaware, was not injured.

    Coastal Highway was closed for approximately 4 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

  • State Police Investigating Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash Near Selbyville

    Delaware State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred this morning near Selbyville that left two people dead.

    On July 8, 2025, at approximately 7:54 a.m., a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling eastbound on Lighthouse Road, approaching New Road. At the same time, a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound on Lighthouse Road, approaching New Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Camaro crossed the double-yellow center line and entered the Santa Fe’s path of travel in the westbound lane of Lighthouse Road. As a result, the front of the Camaro struck the front of the Santa Fe.

    The driver of the Camaro, a 22-year-old woman from Berlin, Maryland, was taken to an area hospital where she later died. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.

    The right front seat passenger of the Santa Fe, a 77-year-old man from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified. The driver of the Santa Fe, a 74-year-old man from Selbyville, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries.

    Lighthouse Road was closed for an extended time while the scene was investigated and cleared.

  • State Police Arrest Laurel Man for Thefts in Eastern Sussex County

    Delaware State Police have arrested 22-year-old Donsha Sturgis of Laurel, Delaware, for several felonies following a series of thefts that occurred last month in eastern Sussex County.

    Between June 10 and June 17, 2025, troopers investigated several thefts and attempted thefts of a similar nature from unsecured vehicles in the communities of Autumn Oaks, Overbrook Shores, Vincent Overlook in Milton, Eagle Run in Lincoln, and Edgewater Estates in Lewes. In each of the thefts, unknown suspects trespassed onto various properties during the overnight hours and stole money and property from unsecured vehicles. During the investigations, detectives identified a silver Chevy Cruz as the suspect vehicle. Through investigative means, detectives identified Donsha Sturgis as one of the suspects involved in the thefts.

    On July 1, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on the 2800 block of Daniel Street in Laurel during which Sturgis was taken into custody without incident.

    Sturgis was taken to Troop 4, where was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on his own recognizance.

    • Theft Under $1,500 Where a Victim is 62 Years of Age or Older (Felony) – 3 counts
    • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
    • Theft Under $1,500 – 5 counts
    • Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree – 11 counts

  • Troopers Arrest Ellendale Man for DUI and Gun Offenses Following Crash in Harbeson

    Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old James Fisher of Ellendale, Delaware, for DUI, gun, and crash related offenses following a crash that occurred yesterday in Harbeson.

    On July 1, 2025, at approximately 8:35 a.m., a Ford F-750 was traveling southbound Harbeson Road north of Lewes-Georgetown Highway. The investigation revealed that for unknown reasons, the Ford left the southbound lane of travel and as a result hit several parked vehicles on the 18000 block of Harbeson Road. After the crash, the driver, identified as James Fisher, was seen removing a bag from the Ford and hiding it behind a tree. When troopers arrived, they spoke to Fisher, observed multiple signs of impairment, and conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Troopers also located the bag that Fisher hid behind the tree. A search of the bag revealed several firearms, that Fisher had stolen, along with ammunition and ballistic vests. Fisher suffered minor injuries from the crash but refused transport to the hospital.

    Fisher, who is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, was arrested and taken to Troop 7. He was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $25,530 secured bond.

    • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony) – 4 counts
    • Possession of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon if Previously Convicted of a Violent Felony (Felony) – 4 counts

    The Delaware State Police have arrested 34-year-old Taron Brawner of Easton, Maryland and 38-year-old Kyle Parker of Townsend Delaware, following a robbery that occurred in May in the parking lot of Harrington Raceway and Casino.

    On May 11, 2025, at approximately 2:45 a.m., troopers responded to Harrington Raceway and Casino, located at 42 Chambers Circle in Harrington, for a report of a robbery. When troopers arrived, they learned that 2 unknown black male suspects approached the male victim in the parking lot as he was getting in his vehicle. The suspects assaulted the victim, took his property, and fled in an unknown direction of travel in an unknown black pick-up truck. The victim suffered minor injuries. Through investigative means, troopers identified Taron Brawner and Kyle Parker as the suspects and obtained warrants for their arrest.

    On June 13, 2025, Parker was arrested and taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on his own recognizance.

  • State Police Homicide Detectives Conducting Death Investigation in Frankford

    The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation in Frankford after a woman was found dead yesterday.

    On June 30, 2025, at approximately 2:26 p.m., troopers responded to the 34000 block of Zion Church Road in Frankford to check the welfare of a 37-year-old woman after she had not been contacted for several days. When troopers arrived, they found the woman with an apparent fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is being withheld until her family is notified.   • State Police Arrest Hartly Man for Burglary in Camden; Second Suspect At-Large

    Delaware State Police have arrested 40-year-old Ronald Keiser of Hartly, Delaware, for multiple felony offenses stemming from a burglary that occurred earlier this week in Camden. Troopers are seeking the public’s assistance with their ongoing efforts to locate Keiser’s accomplice, 53-year-old Matthew Melvin of Seaford, Delaware.

    On June 16, 2025, at approximately 5:46 a.m., troopers responded to a residence, located on the 8000 block of Westville Road in Camden, for a report of a burglary. When troopers arrived, they learned that during the overnight hours, two unknown white males arrived on the property in a white Toyota 4-Runner pulling a trailer. The suspects entered a detached garage on the property and stole 2 ATVs and power tools. The suspects fled in an unknown direction with the stolen items.

    Through investigative means, troopers identified the suspects as Ronald Keiser and Matthew Melvin. Later in the day, troopers on patrol in the area of the Royal Farms in Hartly, saw a Toyota 4-Runner pulling a trailer that matched the description of the suspect vehicle from the burglary in Camden. Troopers pulled the Toyota over and spoke with the female driver and the passenger, identified as Ronald Keiser. Ronald was taken into custody without incident. Troopers attempted to locate Melvin, who is wanted for multiple felony offenses.

    Keiser was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $7,000 secured bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 25-year-old John Carey of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, for burglary and related offenses following a burglary that occurred at Four Seasons Pizza in Dover.

    On June 16, 2025, at approximately 9:18 a.m., troopers responded to Four Seasons Pizza, located at 2467 South State Street in Dover, for a report of a burglary. When troopers arrived, they learned that during the overnight hours, an unknown black male suspect forced entry to the business.   • Troopers Arrest Milton Man for Aggravated Menacing and Gun Charges

    Delaware State Police have arrested 45-year-old Chad Tylecki of Milton, Delaware, for aggravated menacing and gun related charges following a disorderly incident that occurred earlier this week in Milton.

    On June 16, 2025, at approximately 7:36 a.m., troopers responded to Lawns Unlimited, located at 15089 Coastal Highway in Milton, for a report of a disorderly person. When troopers arrived, they learned that a man, later identified as Chad Tylecki, yelled at a Lawns Unlimited employee from his neighboring residence. While yelling at the employee, Tylecki opened his jacket, revealing a firearm in his waistband. Troopers contacted Tylecki at his residence and took him into custody without incident. During a search of his person, troopers found a loaded handgun in his waistband.

    Tylecki, who is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, was taken to Troop 7. He was charged with crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $46,100 cash bond.

    Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred last night in Camden that left one man dead.

    On June 17, 2025, at approximately 7:43 p.m., a Harley Davidson FLH was traveling eastbound on Westville Road approaching Big Ditch Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve and exited the south edge of the roadway. As a result, the motorcycle entered a ditch and the driver was ejected.

    The driver, a 64-year-old man from Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

    The road was closed for an extended time while the scene was investigated and cleared.

    Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash that occurred last night in Bethel that left one woman dead.

    On June 16, 2025, at approximately 6:15 a.m., troopers responded to the 8000 block of Bethel Road where they found a woman dead along the side of the road. The preliminary investigation revealed that on June 15, 2025, at approximately 8:51 p.m., an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on Bethel Road west of O’Neal’s Road. At the same time, a pedestrian entered the eastbound lane of Bethel Road from the north side of the road, into the vehicle’s path of travel. As a result, the vehicle hit the pedestrian and fled the scene eastbound on Bethel Road.

    The victim, a 78-year-old woman from Seaford, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name is being withheld until her family has been notified.

    The roadway was closed for approximately 5 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

When troopers arrived, they learned that the victim was returning to her car with her daughter when she was involved in an argument with an unknown white male and an unknown white female in a tan sedan. After the argument, the male suspect pointed a black handgun at the victims, and possibly fired an unknown number of shots as the victims drove away from the boat ramp. There were no reported injuries following the shooting. Troopers searched the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate the suspect or the tan sedan.

    Later in the day, at approximately 5:17 p.m., troopers responded to Strawberry Drive and Orange Street in Magnolia, for a report of a disorderly person. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown white male suspect in a light-colored Ford Focus was arguing with a male victim walking down the street. During the argument, the suspect pulled a black handgun from the trunk of the Ford, and threatened the victim. Troopers searched the area for the suspect, and found him in the Ford on Strawberry Drive. Troopers made contact with the suspect, identified as Christopher Wyman, and took him into custody without incident. Through investigative means, troopers linked Wyman and the Ford as the suspect and vehicle involved in the shots fired investigation earlier that afternoon in Felton. During a search of the Ford, troopers found a BB gun that matched the description of the firearm displayed in both incidents.

    Wyman was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,000 secured bond.

  • State Police Detectives Continue to Ask for the Public’s Help in 2016 Homicide Investigation

    The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate the 2016 death of 63-year-old James Leager from Clayton, Delaware.

    On April 27, 2016, James was found in his vehicle on a farm property on the 700 block of Blackbird-Greenspring Road in Smyrna, with serious injuries. He was taken to an area hospital where he died nearly 3 weeks later. James was a life-long resident of the Smyrna-Clayton area and was well known in the community.

    Over the past nine years, detectives have continued to investigate, examine forensic evidence, and pursue leads in this case. There have been no arrests. Investigators are once again asking for the public’s help with any information that may be relevant.

  • State Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Dover

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early this morning in Dover that left one man dead.

    On June 10, 2025, at approximately 2:21 a.m., a Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound, in the right lane, on Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway (State Route 1) approaching White Oak Road. At the same time, a pedestrian wearing dark, non-reflective clothing, and not carrying a light, was in the Jeep’s path of travel on Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway.  Subsequently, the pedestrian was struck by the Jeep in the right northbound lane of the highway.

    The pedestrian, a 39-year-old man from Dover, Delaware, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

    The driver of the Jeep, a 63-year-old man from Berlin, Maryland, was not injured.

    The roadway was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

    On June 6, 2025, at approximately 4:32 p.m., a Ford Bronco was traveling northbound on Mulberry Street approaching Milton-Ellendale Highway. As a result, the front of the Suburban hit the passenger’s side of the Bronco. After the collision the Bronco rotated clockwise and struck a tree.

    The driver of the Bronco, a 74-year-old woman from Ellendale, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital where she later died. Her name is being withheld until her family is notified.

    The driver of the Suburban, a 38-year-old female Sussex County Paramedic, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

  • Troopers Arrest Harbeson Man for Burglary at a Sussex County Fire Station

    Delaware State Police have arrested 52-year-old Eugene Marple of Harbeson, Delaware, for burglary and related offenses following a burglary that occurred at Indian River Volunteer Fire Company on Wednesday.

    On June 4, 2025, troopers began investigating a burglary at Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, located at 32628 Oak Orchard Road in Millsboro. During the investigation, troopers learned that during the overnight hours of June 4th, an unknown white male suspect entered the fire station through an unsecured door. Once inside, the suspect damaged an office door, stole property, and fled the scene.

    Through investigative means, troopers identified Eugene Marple as the suspect and on June 5, 2025, he was arrested without incident.

    Marple, who is not a member of the fire company, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 61-year-old Jay Smith from Wilmington, Delaware, for a robbery that occurred last month at a Family Dollar in Wilmington.

    On May 17, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., troopers responded to the Family Dollar, located at 1311 East Newport Gap Pike, Wilmington, for a report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed a black male suspect entered the business, selected merchandise, and approached the counter demanding money with a handgun. The employee did not comply, and the suspect fled with the merchandise from the store in a silver SUV.

    Through investigative means, detectives identified Jay Smith as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

    On June 5, 2025, Smith was arrested and taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $55,000 secured bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 20-year-old Daniel Johnson of Dover, Delaware and are searching for 28-year-old Matthew Doby of Hartly, Delaware following a home invasion-robbery that occurred Saturday night in Camden-Wyoming.

    On May 31, 2025, at approximately 10:58 p.m., troopers responded to an RV on the 5000 block of Mud Mill Road in Camden-Wyoming, for a report of a home invasion. The preliminary investigation revealed that 3 masked male suspects, one of them known by the victim and identified as George Carey, forcibly entered the RV. One of the suspects threatened the victim with a knife, while the other suspects ransacked the RV and stole the victim’s property. Carey fled the scene on foot and the other two suspects, fled in a black Ford crossover style vehicle. Responding troopers searched the area and found Carey walking on Mud Mill Road. He was taken into custody without incident.

    Through investigative means, detectives identified the other suspects as Daniel Johnson and Mathew Doby and obtained warrants for their arrest.

  • State Police Arrest Dover Man for Aggravated Menacing in Dover

    Delaware State Police have arrested 74-year-old Peter Reidy of Dover, Delaware for felony charges following an incident that occurred Friday afternoon at Rodney Village Shopping Center in Dover.

    On May 30, 2025, at approximately 1:58 p.m., troopers responded to Rodney Village Shopping Center, located at 1606 South Governors Avenue in Dover, for a report of an assault. When troopers arrived, they found an intoxicated man, identified as Peter Reidy, who had been sprayed with pepper spray. During the investigation, troopers learned that Reidy was disorderly in the parking lot and aggressively approached the male victim in front of Harbor Freight with a screwdriver as he exited his vehicle. Inside the victim’s vehicle was a woman and two children. Reidy grabbed the victim, pushed him against his vehicle, and the woman in the victim’s vehicle sprayed Reidy with pepper spray, ending the altercation. The victim was not injured and Riedy was taken to an area hospital for his injuries.

    After being released from the hospital, Reidy was taken to Troop 3. He was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $47,201 secured bond.

    Delaware State Police have arrested 48-year-old George Carey of Hartly, Delaware following a home invasion-robbery that occurred Saturday night in Camden-Wyoming.

    On May 31, 2025, at approximately 10:58 p.m., troopers responded to an RV on the 5000 block of Mud Mill Road in Camden-Wyoming, for a report of a home invasion. The preliminary investigation revealed that 3 masked male suspects, one of them known by the victim and identified as George Carey, forcibly entered the RV. One of the suspects threatened the victim with a knife, while the others ransacked the RV and stole the victim’s property. Carey fled the scene on foot and the other two suspects fled in a black Ford crossover style vehicle. Responding troopers searched the area and found Carey walking on Mud Mill Road. He was taken into custody without incident. During a search of Carey and his property, troopers found the victim’s stolen property, approximately 5.24 grams of methamphetamines, approximately 3.68 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is active and ongoing as detectives continue working to identify the other suspects.

    Carey was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $30,000 cash bond.

  • Troopers Arrest Bridgeville Man for 6th Offense DUI

    Delaware State Police have arrested 29-year-old Cristian Velasquez of Bridgeville, Delaware, for a 6th offense felony DUI and other felony offenses following a traffic stop in Bridgeville yesterday.

    On May 31, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a trooper on patrol saw a Dodge Ram pick-up truck speeding southbound on Coverdale Road near Nat Turner Street. The trooper pulled the truck over and spoke to the driver, identified as Cristian Velasquez, who showed multiple signs of impairment. Velasquez refused to take Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was taken into custody without incident. During a search of his person, troopers found a folding knife in his pocket. A computer check showed that Velasquez is a convicted felon, had five prior DUI-related convictions, and a suspended/revoked driver’s license.

    Velasquez was taken to Troop 5, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $15,150 secured bond.

  • State Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Cheswold

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred last night in Cheswold that left one man dead.

    On May 30, 2025, at approximately 7:47 p.m., a Suzuki ZR9 motorcycle was traveling southbound on North Dupont Highway, in the left lane, approaching Rose Bowl Road. At the same time, a Toyota Sienna was traveling eastbound on Rose Bowl Road, stopped at the stop sign at North Dupont Highway. The preliminary investigation revealed the Sienna proceeded to cross the southbound lanes of North Dupont Highway and entered the motorcycle’s path of travel. As a result, the motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the Sienna, ejecting the driver.

    The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man from Dover, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital where he later died. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

    The driver of the Toyota, a 74-year-old man from Smyrna, Delaware, sustained a minor injury and refused transport to the hospital.

    The roadway was closed for an extended period while the scene was investigated and cleared.

  • State Police Investigating Attempted Robbery Outside Wilmington PNC Bank

    Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of a PNC Bank in Wilmington.

    On May 29, 2025, detectives began investigating an attempted robbery that occurred on May 27, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of PNC Bank, located at 1704 Marsh Road in Wilmington. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was approached by an unknown black male suspect who demanded money. The victim did not comply, and the suspect fled the scene. The victim was not injured.

    Surveillance video and images are not yet available.

  • Troopers Arrest Felton Man for 5th Offense DUI

    Delaware State Police have arrested 78-year-old Linwood Lewis of Felton, Delaware, for a 5th offense felony DUI in Felton.

    On May 27, 2025, at approximately 11:19 a.m., a trooper patrolling South Dupont Highway near Main Street in Felton, saw a Nissan Murano with an expired registration. The trooper pulled the Nissan over and spoke to the driver, identified as Linwood Lewis, who showed signs of impairment. In the ensuing investigation, Lewis refused to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and resisted arrest as the trooper took him into custody. After Lewis was taken into custody, a computer check showed that he had four prior DUI-related convictions.

    Lewis was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on a $7,000 unsecured bond.

  • Troopers Arrest Felton Man for 5th Offense DUI

    Delaware State Police have arrested 78-year-old Linwood Lewis of Felton, Delaware, for a 5th offense felony DUI in Felton.

    On May 27, 2025, at approximately 11:19 a.m., a trooper patrolling South Dupont Highway near Main Street in Felton, saw a Nissan Murano with an expired registration. The trooper pulled the Nissan over and spoke to the driver, identified as Linwood Lewis, who showed signs of impairment. In the ensuing investigation, Lewis refused to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and resisted arrest as the trooper took him into custody. After Lewis was taken into custody, a computer check showed that he had four prior DUI-related convictions.

    Lewis was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on a $7,000 unsecured bond.

  • Search Warrant in Frankford Leads to Arrests for Drug Offenses

    Delaware State Police have arrested 56-year-old Calvin Wescott of Ellendale, Delaware, 35-year-old Jerome Wescott of Frankford, Delaware, and a 17-year-old male of Seaford, Delaware, for felony drug charges following a search warrant in Frankford last week.

    On May 22, 2025, members of the Sussex County Drug Unit, Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence on the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road in Frankford. The search warrant was obtained following an investigation of Calvin Wescott, Jerome Wescott, and the 17-year-old male for the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence. Before the search warrant, detectives saw Calvin and Jerome Wescott leave the residence and they were detained without incident. During the search warrant, seven people were detained in the residence, including the 17-year-old male suspect. A child was also in the residence at the time.

    A search of the residence led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Approximately 162.35 grams of marijuana
    • Approximately .09 grams of crack cocaine
    • Approximately 2.07 grams of heroin
    • 6 pregabalin pills
    • Digital scales

    Calvin Wescott was arrested and taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released after posting a $10,000 secured bond.

    Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred last night in Millsboro.

    On May 28, 2025, at approximately 9:44 p.m., troopers responded to the 27000 block of Patriots Way in Millsboro for a report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown suspect fired an unknown number of shots that hit an occupied house. No one was injured, and the incident remains under investigation.

  • State Police Arrest Bridgeville Pair for Burglary and Theft

    Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old Robert Layton and 31-year-old Jasmine Rokos, both from Bridgeville, Delaware for burglary and related charges following a burglary at a Seaford home last week.

    On May 23, 2025, troopers responded to the 24000 block of German Road in Seaford for a report of a burglary. When troopers arrived, they learned that earlier in the week, unknown suspects had forced entry to the unoccupied home. Once inside, the suspects stole electronics, power tools, automotive parts, welding equipment, and fishing rods valued at over $12,000. Through investigative means, detectives identified Layton and Rokos as the suspects and obtained warrants for their arrest.

    On May 26, 2025, Delaware State Police and Bridgeville Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Laverty Lane in Bridgeville. Layton and Rokos were taken into custody without incident and during a search of the residence, detectives recovered the following items:

    • Stolen items from the burglary
    • .410-gauge shotgun
    • .22 caliber rifle
    • Stolen .25 caliber handgun
    • Drug paraphernalia

    Layton and Rokos were arrested and taken to Troop 4 where they were charged with multiple crimes.


    Layton, who is a convicted felon, and a person prohibited, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $80,600 secured bond.

  • Governor’s Task Force Arrests Seaford Pair Following Probation & Parole Search

    The Delaware State Police have arrested 23-year-old Randolph Clayton, and 19-year-old Anyla Brewer, both of Seaford, Delaware, for several felony drug charges following a Probation and Parole search.

    On May 22, 2025, at approximately 9:54 a.m., Sussex County Governor’s Task Force was requested by Probation & Parole to assist while they conducted an administrative search at probationer Randolph Clayton’s residence on Woodland Mills Drive in Seaford. During the search of the residence, a child was present, and Clayton and Brewer were taken into custody. The search led to the discovery of the following items:

    • Approximately 36.27 grams of heroin
    • Approximately 9.46 grams of crack cocaine
    • 10 oxycodone pills
    • Digital scale
    • Drug paraphernalia

    Clayton and Brewer were arrested and taken to Troop 4 where they were charged with multiple crimes.


    Clayton was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,000 cash bond.

    On May 20, 2025, at approximately 8:07 p.m., troopers were dispatched to a field on Walnut Shade Road near Autumn Moon Road in Magnolia for a report of an accidental shooting. When troopers arrived, they found a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound and began life saving efforts. The victim was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where he died from his injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, and three others, were target shooting when the victim was shot. The investigation is active and ongoing.

  • Troopers Arrest Rehoboth Beach Woman Following HOA Dispute

    Delaware State Police have arrested 62-year-old Jennifer August of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for felony offenses following a Homeowners Association (HOA) dispute in Rehoboth Beach on Monday.

    On May 19, 2025, at approximately 9:49 a.m., troopers responded to a property on Black Duck Reach in Rehoboth Beach for a report of a female resident causing a disturbance. When troopers arrived, they learned that a member of the HOA, and contractors were clearing ivy on a fence within an easement on Black Duck Reach. While working, a resident who lives next to the easement, identified as Jennifer August, approached the group, and began arguing with them. During the argument, August threatened one of the contractors with a pair of scissors, threw debris on another contractor, and sprayed the HOA member with an unknown liquid. August was located at her residence and taken into custody without incident.

    August was taken to Troop 7, where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.

  • State Police Investigating Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Millsboro

    Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred yesterday in Millsboro that left one man dead.

    On May 20, 2025, at approximately 5:16 p.m., a Lincoln MKZ was traveling westbound on Hollyville Road near Harmon’s Hill Road. At the same time, a Cadillac Escalade was traveling eastbound on Hollyville Road near Harmon’s Hill Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Lincoln entered the eastbound lane of travel into the path of the Cadillac. In an attempt to avoid the collision, the Cadillac swerved to the right shoulder where the front of the Lincoln struck the front of the Cadillac.

    The unrestrained driver of the Lincoln, a 19-year-old man from Dagsboro, Delaware, was taken to an area hospital where he died. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.

    The driver of the Cadillac, a 52-year-old woman from Dagsboro, Delaware was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger, a 56-year-old woman from Millsboro, Delaware, was also taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    The roadway was closed for an extended time while the scene was investigated and cleared.
