Jamal Adams, a three-time Pro Bowl selection who has lined up at both linebacker and safety, reached an agreement with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday — his sixth NFL franchise.
The 30-year-old made the announcement himself, posting “Year 10 #skol” on X to confirm the deal.
Adams most recently suited up for the Las Vegas Raiders, where he played in all 17 games last season — starting four of them at linebacker — and recorded 45 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.
Over the course of his career, Adams has also played for the New York Jets from 2017 to 2019, the Seattle Seahawks from 2020 to 2023, and both the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions during the 2024 season. His three Pro Bowl honors came while playing safety between 2018 and 2020.
It’s not yet clear what role Adams will fill in Minnesota, though his versatility gives the team options. His arrival is notable given that veteran safety Harrison Smith is currently weighing whether to retire.
Across his professional career, Adams has compiled 546 tackles, 22.5 sacks, four interceptions, 36 passes defended, eight forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.
He’s stepping into a strong defensive unit — the Vikings allowed just 282.6 yards per game last season, ranking third in the entire NFL.
