    Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred yesterday in Lincoln.

    On October 28, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., troopers responded to the 21000 block of Hackney Circle in Lincoln for a report of a residence that was struck by gunfire. The preliminary investigation revealed that the unoccupied residence was struck by gunfire sometime during the day while the homeowner was away. No one was injured.

  • Detectives Investigating Shots Fired on Jack Markell Trail

    Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on the Jack Markell Trail in New Castle early Friday morning.

    On September 26, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m., troopers responded to the Jack Markell Trail, in the area of Robinson Drive and West Minuit Drive, New Castle, for a report of shots fired. Upon arriving, troopers, with assistance of New Castle County Police Department, located spent shell casings on the trail behind a residence on Robinson Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed that after the shots were heard, an unknown person was seen riding eastbound on the trail, away from the area, on a motorbike.

    There are no reported injuries or other property damage at this time. There is no further information available for the suspect(s) at this time. Surveillance video and images are not available.

  • Detectives Investigating Shots Fired in Claymont

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in the area of Claymont Elementary School in Claymont last night.

    On July 27, 2025, at approximately 10:53 p.m., troopers responded to the area of Claymont Elementary School, located at 3401 Green Street, Claymont, for a report of shots fired. Troopers, with the assistance of New Castle County Police Department, searched the area for any victims, suspects, or property damaged. During the search, New Castle County Police Department Officers located an abandoned white Hyundai Sonata on Green Street. The vehicle was still in drive, and appeared to have been struck by a projectile. The preliminary investigation revealed that after the shots fired were heard, several vehicles drove away at a high rate of speed, and the Hyundai was abandoned, still in motion, by 3-4 unknown subjects, who fled in various directions.

    There are no reported injuries or other property damage at this time. There is no further information available for the suspect(s). Surveillance video and images are not available.

  • Troopers Arrest Dover Man for Aggravated Menacing Stemming from Shots Fired Investigation

    Delaware State Police have arrested 28-year-old Christopher Wyman of Dover, Delaware, for aggravated menacing charges stemming from a shots fired investigation that occurred in Magnolia on Saturday.

    On June 7, 2025, at approximately 1:19 p.m., troopers responded to a boat ramp at Canterbury Road and Waterside Drive in Felton, for a report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, they learned that the victim was returning to her car with her daughter when she was involved in an argument with an unknown white male and an unknown white female in a tan sedan. After the argument, the male suspect pointed a black handgun at the victims, and possibly fired an unknown number of shots as the victims drove away from the boat ramp. There were no reported injuries following the shooting. Troopers searched the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate the suspect or the tan sedan.

    Later in the day, at approximately 5:17 p.m., troopers responded to Strawberry Drive and Orange Street in Magnolia, for a report of a disorderly person. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown white male suspect in a light-colored Ford Focus was arguing with a male victim walking down the street. During the argument, the suspect pulled a black handgun from the trunk of the Ford, and threatened the victim. Troopers searched the area for the suspect, and found him in the Ford on Strawberry Drive. Troopers made contact with the suspect, identified as Christopher Wyman, and took him into custody without incident. Through investigative means, troopers linked Wyman and the Ford as the suspect and vehicle involved in the shots fired investigation earlier that afternoon in Felton. During a search of the Ford, troopers found a BB gun that matched the description of the firearm displayed in both incidents.

    Wyman was taken to Troop 3, where he was charged with crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,000 secured bond.

  • Detectives Investigating Parking Lot Shots Fired Incident at Dover Area Waffle House

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred in the parking lot of the Waffle House in Dover earlier today.

    On May 4, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., troopers responded to the Waffle House, located at 4003 South Dupont Highway, Dover, for a report of shots fired in the parking lot. The preliminary investigation revealed that several subjects were arguing while in the restaurant’s parking lot when an unknown suspect fired several shots into the air. Subsequently, everyone in the parking lot, including the suspect, fled in an unknown direction. There are no reported injuries or property damage at this time.

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred on Red Lion Road in New Castle on Saturday night.

    On April 27, 2025, troopers responded to a residence on Red Lion Road in New Castle, for a late report of shots fired heard by a homeowner on the 1000 block of Red Lion Road on Saturday night. The preliminary investigation revealed that on April 26, 2025, at approximately 9:53 p.m., a suspect in an unknown vehicle fired multiple shots from the vehicle as they traveled northbound on Red Lion Road. There are no reported injuries or property damage at this time.

  • State Police Detectives Investigating Shooting at Unsanctioned Car Meet in Bear

    Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred over the weekend at an unsanctioned car meet in Bear.

    On April 27, 2025, at approximately 12:23 a.m., troopers responded to a residence in Middletown for a late report of a shooting that occurred earlier that night at an unsanctioned car meet at a warehouse complex located in the 2400 block of Bear Corbitt Road in Bear. The preliminary investigation revealed 3 teenage males were involved in an argument with another group of males, during which the suspect displayed a firearm. Following the argument, the victims returned to their vehicle, at which point the suspect fired multiple shots, some of which struck the victims’ vehicle. The victims were not injured.

    The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male. There is no additional description available for the suspect.

  • Detectives Investigating Shooting at Bear Residence

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at a residence on Red Lion Road in Bear early this morning.

    On April 19, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Red Lion Road in Bear, for a report of a shooting that occurred in the area of the residence. The preliminary investigation revealed several shots were fired by an unknown suspect. An unknown suspect vehicle was reported to have fled southbound on Red Lion Road. Following the shooting, a 34-year-old man was taken to an area hospital by a private vehicle for an apparent gunshot wound.

  • State Police Arrest Man for Gun Offenses Stemming from Shots Fired Incident in Millsboro

    The Delaware State Police arrested 56-year-old Harry Hudson of Millsboro, Delaware, for gun offenses stemming from a shots fired incident that occurred on Saturday night in Millsboro.

    On March 22, 2025, at approximately 11:25 p.m., troopers responded to Gravel Hill Road, Millsboro, for a report of disorderly conduct and shots fired. Upon arriving, troopers learned the suspect, later identified as Harry Hudson, approached a social gathering at a neighboring residence on Gravel Hill Road and behaved in a disorderly manner with several attendees. Hudson was then asked to leave by the homeowner; however, he returned a short time later with a large dog, and made threatening statements. Following multiple requests to leave, Hudson left the property a second time. While leaving, Hudson removed a handgun that was concealed under his clothes, and kept it in his hand as he walked away from the residence. A few minutes later, the party attendees heard possible gunshots from the area of Hudson’s property followed by Hudson yelling threats. Troopers located Hudson in his driveway shouting obscenities and took him into custody without incident. While taking Hudson into custody, troopers observed a loaded firearm on the ground near Hudson.

    A computer inquiry of Hudson revealed he is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. Hudson was taken to Troop 4, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on a $21,050 unsecured bond.

  • Detectives Investigating Road Rage Shooting on Route 1 in Smyrna

    The Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting stemming from a road rage incident that occurred Friday night on Route 1 in Smyrna.

    On March 14, 2025, at approximately 8:43 p.m., troopers responded to Route 1 southbound, in the area of Exit 119, for a report of a road rage shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed a black Infiniti sedan was involved in a road rage incident with a black pickup truck while driving on Route 1 southbound. During the incident, the suspect vehicle collided with the rear of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle then drove parallel to the victim’s vehicle, and an unknown suspect discharged a firearm, which struck the victim’s vehicle. The Infiniti’s driver, a 27-year-old Delaware man, and 2 passengers were not injured. Following the shooting, the suspect vehicle did not stop, and continued southbound on Route 1.

    There is no additional suspect or suspect vehicle information available at this time.

  • Magnolia woman charged following shots fired incident

    Magnolia woman charged following shots fired incident

    A Magnolia woman has been charged with multiple felonies after police say an argument led to shots fired inside her home Thursday.

    According to Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. when troopers were dispatched to a home on Douglas Fir Road in Magnolia for reports of shots fired.

    Police arrived and learned that 25-year-old Tamia Richardson had been engaged in a physical altercation with a 21-year-old male.

    During the altercation, police say Tamia pulled out a handgun and fired multiple rounds.

    A 44-year-old man, and two children, ages 1 and 4, were inside of the home at the time of the shooting.

    Troopers responded to the home and set up a perimeter, ordering Tamia to come outside.

    She was taken into custody without incident.
    The 21-year-old man involved left the scene prior to the arrival of police. There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the incident.

    Tamia has been charged with 1st Degree Reckless Endangerment and 3 counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon. She was arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Correctional Institution on $12,500 secured bond.
