Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Michael Nokes of Magnolia, Delaware, for a robbery that occurred Monday evening at a Dollar General in Magnolia.
On June 3, 2024, at approximately 6:08 p.m., troopers responded to the Dollar General, located at 54 West Birdie Lane in Magnolia, for a report of a robbery. The preliminary investigation revealed that a masked black male suspect approached the cashier to make a purchase. Once the cash drawer opened during the transaction, the suspect forcefully removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, and ran out of the store in an unknown direction.
Through investigative means, troopers identified Michael Nokes as the suspect involved in the robbery and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On June 5, 2024, troopers from Troop 3 Patrol and the Kent County Governor’s Task Force located Nokes at a residence in Dover, and took him into custody without incident. Nokes was transported to Troop 3, where he was charged with the offenses listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $7,500 secured bond.
