The National Hurricane Center in Miami released its 14th forecast advisory for Tropical Storm Bertha at 9:00 p.m. UTC on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, as the storm continues tracking westward through the Gulf of Mexico.<\/p>

As of the advisory, Bertha’s center was located near coordinates 29.8 degrees North, 89.8 degrees West \u2014 with that position considered accurate within about 30 nautical miles. The storm is moving due west at approximately 6 knots.<\/p>

Bertha is currently producing maximum sustained winds of 40 knots, with gusts reaching up to 50 knots. The storm’s minimum central pressure is estimated at 1,000 millibars. Tropical storm-force winds of 34 knots extend outward up to 140 nautical miles to the southeast and southwest of the center.<\/p>

Looking ahead, forecasters expect Bertha to remain near the Louisiana coast by early Thursday morning before drifting further west over open water by Thursday evening. Wind speeds are forecast to drop to 35 knots by that point.<\/p>

By early Friday morning, the storm is expected to degrade into a post-tropical remnant low near the Texas coast, with winds dropping to around 25 knots. Forecasters project the system will fully dissipate by Friday evening.<\/p>

The National Hurricane Center is requesting ship reports from vessels within 300 nautical miles of the storm’s current position. The next full advisory is scheduled for 3:00 a.m. UTC on Thursday. Forecaster Berg issued the advisory.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
