Shanghai officials announced Wednesday that they brought together leading automakers, dealer associations, and internet platforms to stress compliance requirements as part of a broader push to regulate how information about the automotive industry is shared online.<\/p>

The gathering, organized on Tuesday by multiple city agencies including those overseeing cyberspace, commerce, and market regulation, drew participation from 15 major automakers. Among those in attendance were SAIC Motor, Tesla, BYD, Xiaomi, Xpeng, Nio, and Li Auto, along with more than 80 dealer groups, according to an official statement.<\/p>

Internet platforms Bilibili and Xiaohongshu were also called in to participate in the session.<\/p>

During the meeting, Shanghai’s market regulator laid out the rules on pricing compliance, covering areas such as manufacturing, pricing strategies, and vehicle sales practices.<\/p>

City authorities called on automakers and dealers to conduct internal reviews of their own operations and to avoid improper online marketing tactics, according to a statement released by Shanghai’s cyberspace administration.<\/p>

Officials also directed internet platforms to tighten their content review processes and improve how they handle corporate complaints about infringement.
