The National Hurricane Center in Miami issued its sixth wind speed probability advisory for Tropical Depression Two at 9:00 p.m. UTC on Monday, July 20, 2026.<\/p>

At the time of the advisory, the center of Tropical Depression Two was located near latitude 28.7 degrees north and longitude 85.8 degrees west, with maximum sustained winds of approximately 30 knots \u2014 about 35 miles per hour or 55 kilometers per hour.<\/p>

The advisory outlines the probability of sustained wind speeds reaching at least 39 mph (tropical storm force), 58 mph, or 74 mph at various locations along the Gulf Coast over the next five days.<\/p>

Among the locations with the highest cumulative probabilities of reaching tropical storm-force winds of at least 34 knots are grid points near longitude 87.0 west at latitude 29.0 north, which showed a five-day cumulative probability of 60 percent. That same location also carried a 10 percent cumulative chance of reaching 50-knot winds and a 1 percent chance of reaching 64-knot hurricane-force winds.<\/p>

Panama City, Florida showed a cumulative 17 percent chance of experiencing tropical storm-force winds over the five-day period, while Pensacola, Florida carried a 7 percent cumulative probability. Apalachicola showed a 9 percent cumulative chance.<\/p>

Further west, Buras, Louisiana carried a 12 percent cumulative probability of tropical storm-force winds, and New Orleans and Houma, Louisiana each showed a 7 percent cumulative chance. Cameron, Louisiana had a 10 percent cumulative probability.<\/p>

Locations in Texas, including Galveston and High Island, showed lower probabilities, generally in the single digits over the five-day forecast window.<\/p>
