Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary revealed Monday that preliminary findings from an investigation into a disturbing in-flight incident appear to point toward foreign object damage as the likely cause.<\/p>

The incident involved a passenger who was partially pulled through a broken window aboard a Boeing 737. According to O’Leary, the damage appears to have originated with the engine during takeoff at Thessaloniki.<\/p>

“Initial indication would suggest it looks like a foreign object damage to the engine on takeoff at Thessaloniki, but we don’t have, we can’t say that definitively,” O’Leary told analysts during a presentation of Ryanair’s financial results for the April-June quarter.<\/p>

O’Leary noted that investigators are still working through the details and that a formal draft report on the incident is expected to be released in approximately 28 days, with a more comprehensive report to follow after that.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
