NEW YORK \u2014 Kathy Ruemmler, a senior counsel at Goldman Sachs, appeared before a House committee on Wednesday to address questions surrounding convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and her past interactions with him.<\/p>

In her opening statement, Ruemmler was direct about what she observed \u2014 and what she did not. “First, I did not see any evidence of ongoing criminal conduct or misconduct of any kind by Epstein during the time I dealt with him,” she told the committee.<\/p>

She went on to make clear what her response would have been had she been aware of any wrongdoing. “Second, if I had seen or heard any evidence suggesting that he was abusing women or girls, I would have immediately reported him to law enforcement,” Ruemmler stated.<\/p>
