Qatar’s interior ministry announced Sunday that a Qatari national lost his life after suffering shrapnel wounds attributed to what officials described as “military operations in the area.”<\/p>

The incident came to light after a boat carrying the deceased and one other individual was reported missing. Search efforts launched the day before ultimately led authorities to locate the vessel in the early morning hours of Sunday.<\/p>

The second person aboard the boat survived but sustained injuries, according to the ministry.<\/p>

Officials did not disclose the exact location where the incident took place. The ministry also stopped short of clarifying whether the shrapnel that struck the victims had any connection to Iranian drone attacks launched against U.S. military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain on Sunday.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
