WASHINGTON \u2014 The U.S. Federal Communications Commission announced Friday that it will prohibit the importation of equipment made by a group of Chinese manufacturers, marking another step in the federal government’s ongoing effort to limit Chinese-made electronic devices from entering the country.<\/p>

The FCC had previously acted in 2022 to block approvals of new models of telecommunications and video surveillance equipment produced by Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Hikvision, and Dahua. Those companies were added to a list of firms considered to pose risks to U.S. national security.<\/p>
