The Qatar Football Association has extended its well-wishes to Canadian midfielder Ismael Kone following an injury he sustained during the two nations’ World Cup Group B showdown on Thursday.<\/p>

Qatar fell to a lopsided 6-0 loss against Canada in the match, which was also marred by a rough second-half tackle from Qatar’s Assim Madibo that left Kone with a broken leg. Kone was subsequently taken into surgery to address the injury.<\/p>

In a show of sportsmanship, the Qatar Football Association shared a photo on its social media platforms capturing Kone waving to supporters as he was carried off the field on a stretcher. The post included a message expressing hope for his swift and full recovery.<\/p>
