The USDA reports 67% of corn is rated good to excellent, down 2% from last year. Soybeans are tracking at 66% good to excellent. While those numbers look solid nationwide, growing conditions vary widely by region, with some areas dealing with drought stress and others facing too much rain.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Markets<\/h2>\n\n<p>Livestock futures climbed Monday at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. August live cattle gained $1.55 to close at $240.60. October contracts rose $1.90 to $232.32. Feeder cattle showed even stronger gains, with August contracts jumping $3.12 to $351.55.<\/p>\n\n<p>At local cash markets, corn at Laurel Grain Company in Laurel, Delaware is bringing $4.87 a bushel for July delivery. Soybeans there are $11.37 for November.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Forecast<\/h2>\n\n<p>Sunny skies are expected today with a high near 69\u00b0F and northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Tonight stays mostly clear with a low around 58\u00b0F. Wednesday brings more sunshine, warming to 74\u00b0F.
