Russian player Karen Khachanov, seeded 13th, eliminated French wildcard Arthur Gea with scores of 6-3, 7-6(3), 6-0.<\/p>

1142 BENCIC ADVANCES PAST KRAUS<\/p>

Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, the 11th seed, dominated Austria’s Sinja Kraus with a comfortable 6-2, 6-3 win on Court Philippe-Chatrier.<\/p>

The Olympic gold medalist from Tokyo 2020 hopes to make a strong showing this year, as she has never advanced past the third round at Roland Garros.<\/p>
