Delaware State Police arrested 36-year-old Kevin Clary<\/strong> of Millsboro, Delaware, for an attempted robbery and felony assault that occurred yesterday afternoon in Rehoboth Beach.<\/p>\n

On January 19, 2024, at approximately 3:32 p.m., a trooper was approached by a 38-year-old man who was stabbed in his hand at the Wendy\u2019s located at 19054 Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach. The investigation revealed that the victim was in the passenger seat of a car in the parking lot of Wendy\u2019s when he was approached by an acquaintance, identified as Kevin Clary. Clary had been inside the Wendy\u2019s when he discovered the victim was in the parking lot and made statements about killing the victim before he went outside. Once outside, Clary opened the victim\u2019s car door, demanded money from him, and repeatedly jabbed at him with a knife while making statements about killing him. The victim was able to close his door to stop Clary\u2019s assault; at which point, Clary began kicking the door until the victim\u2019s girlfriend returned to the car and drove to the trooper at a nearby business.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to an area hospital by ambulance for his injury. Responding troopers located Clary near a wooded area on Coastal Highway and took him into custody without incident.<\/p>\n

Clary was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the below crimes, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $64,300 cash bond.<\/p>\n
