Delaware State Police are searching for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian before fleeing the scene Monday evening in Milford.<\/p>

The deadly collision happened around 8:10 p.m. on March 23, 2026, along Milford-Harrington Highway just east of Church Hill Road. Authorities say a vehicle heading west hit a pedestrian who was also walking westbound, likely within the travel lane. The driver immediately left the area without stopping, and investigators don’t know which direction the vehicle went.<\/p>

The victim was a 74-year-old Harrington resident who was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Police are withholding his identity while they notify relatives.<\/p>

Traffic was blocked for several hours as crash reconstruction specialists processed the scene and gathered evidence.<\/p>

Delaware State Police Troop 3’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is handling the ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone who saw the crash or has relevant information to reach out to Master Corporal W. Booth at (302) 698-8451. Tips can also be submitted through the Delaware State Police Facebook page via private message or by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.<\/p>
