American military forces carried out a major bombing campaign against Iranian military installations on Kharg Island Friday evening, according to an announcement from U.S. Central Command on Saturday.<\/p>

The operation targeted more than 90 Iranian military facilities on the strategic island location, with CENTCOM stating that “U.S. forces successfully struck more than 90 Iranian military targets on Kharg Island, while preserving the oil infrastructure.”<\/p>

According to military officials posting on social media platform X, the bombing campaign eliminated facilities used for storing naval mines, destroyed bunkers housing missile stockpiles, and took out numerous additional military installations.<\/p>

The military action followed President Donald Trump’s warning issued Friday, in which he threatened to target Iran’s critical Kharg Island oil operations if the Iranian government continued its attacks on shipping vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
