Schools must establish clear standards for appropriate cell phone usage on campus and implement restrictions on device use during classroom instruction.<\/p><p>The legislation also mandates that schools designate specific times and locations where students are permitted to use their mobile devices. Additionally, policies must promote dialogue between educational institutions, families, and students regarding cell phone regulations.<\/p><p>Each policy must outline a framework of suitable penalties for students who violate the cell phone rules. However, schools must also include provisions for emergency circumstances and students requiring medical or educational accommodations.<\/p><p>All Delaware school districts and charter schools have until August 1, 2025, to submit their policies to the state Department of Education and publish them on their official websites.
