Canadian officials announced Wednesday that over 2,000 of their citizens have contacted the government seeking help to evacuate from Middle Eastern nations as tensions continue to rise between the United States, Israel and Iran.<\/p>

According to a government representative, approximately half of these evacuation requests originated from Canadian nationals currently in the United Arab Emirates, while 200 came from those in Qatar and 160 from individuals in Lebanon.<\/p>

Ottawa is actively working to arrange spots on commercial airline flights departing various cities throughout the region, the official explained.
