Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has announced the schedule for the 2026 spring trout fishing season in downstate ponds, giving young anglers the first opportunity to cast their lines.<\/p>

The season will kick off on Saturday, March 7, with fishing restricted exclusively to youth anglers who are younger than 16 years old. This special youth-only day allows young fishing enthusiasts to enjoy the newly stocked ponds without competing with adult anglers.<\/p>

The general trout season for all anglers will commence the following day, Sunday, March 8, beginning thirty minutes prior to sunrise. This timing allows all Delaware fishing license holders to participate in the popular annual tradition.<\/p>
