GEORGETOWN, Del. \u2014<\/strong> A portion of Pettyjohn Road in Georgetown will be closed for several days in mid-September as crews perform utility work, according to the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT). The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, and continue through 6 p.m. on Friday, September 19. The affected stretch lies between Gravel Hill Road (Route 30) and Prettyman Road. DelDOT officials say the work involves a horizontal jack and bore to install an offsite water main.
During the closure, a detour will be in place. Southbound drivers on Pettyjohn Road will be directed to turn right onto Prettyman Road, then left onto Gravel Hill Road to reconnect with Pettyjohn Road. Northbound motorists on Gravel Hill Road will pass the Pettyjohn Road intersection, turn right onto Prettyman Road, and follow it back to Pettyjohn Road.
