WASHINGTON \u2014<\/strong> The Federal Trade Commission has officially designated July 2025 as \u201cMade in the USA\u201d Month, emphasizing the importance of truthful advertising and consumer confidence in American-made products. FTC Chairman Andrew N. Ferguson highlighted the agency\u2019s role in enforcing laws that prevent companies from making false or misleading claims about products being made in the United States. He stressed that protecting consumers from deceptive advertising supports American workers, manufacturers, and local communities.
According to a recent poll cited by the FTC, 61% of Americans consider whether a product is made domestically when making purchasing decisions. Many believe that American-made goods offer superior quality and environmental benefits compared to foreign alternatives.
Ferguson acknowledged that despite this demand, numerous products advertised as \u201cMade in the USA\u201d do not meet the necessary standards. To assist companies, the FTC has developed an accessible online guide to help businesses accurately represent their products.
The chairman framed \u201cMade in the USA\u201d as more than just a marketing phrase, describing it as a symbol of ingenuity, craftsmanship, and the hardworking spirit that underpins American independence and economic vitality.
