The Delaware State Police arrested 25-year-old Dhymand Johnson<\/strong>, and 41-year-old Angel Edwards<\/strong>, both of New Castle, Delaware, for a robbery that occurred at a McDonald\u2019s in New Castle Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

On February 2, 2025, at approximately 1:10 p.m., troopers responded to the McDonald\u2019s, located at 700 North Dupont Highway, New Castle, for a report of a robbery. The two unknown black female suspects were reported to have fled from the business in a red Ford Flex with Delaware registration. While responding, a trooper observed the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on New Castle Avenue in the area of I-295. The trooper conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and the adult occupants were detained without incident. In the ensuing investigation, troopers discovered 2 of the passengers in the Ford, identified as Dhymand Johnson and Angel Edwards, were responsible for the robbery at the McDonald\u2019s. The investigation revealed that Johnson and Edwards took an envelope containing an undisclosed amount of cash from the elderly victim while inside the McDonald\u2019s. The victim attempted to stop the suspects as they ran out of the business towards their vehicle; however, the suspects were able to overcome the victim\u2019s attempts, and they fled in the Ford with the victim\u2019s property. Further investigation revealed that 2 children were in the business with Johnson and Edwards during the incident.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, a search of the Ford led to the recovery of the victim\u2019s property. The victim, a 74-year-old woman, was not injured. Both suspects were taken to Troop 2, where they were each charged with multiple crimes.<\/p>\n

Johnson was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women\u2019s Correctional Institution on a $10,000 cash bond.<\/p>\n
