Delaware residents curious about how the state’s correctional system works now have a chance to find out firsthand. The Delaware Department of Correction is accepting applications for its Fall 2026 Citizens Academy, a free program set to begin September 21 in Dover.<\/p>

The academy runs for six weeks, with evening sessions held each Monday in Kent County. The program is open to Delaware residents and is designed to give participants a closer look at how the DOC operates from the inside.<\/p>
