For Israel, that vision is at the heart of a proposed national quantum-computing research and development center.<\/p><p>Israel Innovation Authority CEO Dror Bin says the time to act is now. Speaking with The Media Line, Bin explained that quantum computing was once considered far too futuristic to be within reach of the current generation \u2014 but that perception has shifted dramatically in recent years.<\/p><p>&#8220;Until just a few years ago, it was seen as something which is too futuristic and will not happen in our generation,&#8221; Bin said. &#8220;But in the last few years, there was really an acceleration in the development of such computers.&#8221;<\/p><p>Bin also addressed the broader challenges tied to quantum computing and artificial intelligence, emphasizing the critical need for extraordinary levels of cooperation and knowledge-sharing to move the technology forward.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Israel is pushing forward with plans for a national quantum-computing research and development center, driven by a rapid acceleration in the technology&#8217;s development.
