Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett has reached an agreement on a restructured contract that guarantees him $15.5 million, with performance incentives that could bring his total earnings up to $21 million this season, according to multiple reports released Sunday.<\/p>

Brissett, who is set to hit free agency after the season concludes, had expressed frustration with his original deal throughout the entire offseason. His previous contract called for $4.88 million in 2026 with only $1.5 million guaranteed \u2014 terms he made clear he was not satisfied with.<\/p>

The 33-year-old signal-caller made his displeasure known by skipping on-field activities during the team’s mandatory minicamp earlier this year. Despite that standoff, he returned to the field and participated in the Cardinals’ first training camp practice on Thursday.<\/p>

Brissett stepped into the starting role last season after Kyler Murray went down with an injury. Over 12 starts, he completed nearly 65 percent of his passes and set personal career bests with 3,366 yards and 23 touchdown passes. He also threw a career-high eight interceptions on 485 attempts. However, Arizona struggled with Brissett under center, finishing just 1-11 in his starts.<\/p>

This offseason, the Cardinals brought in a new head coach in Mike LaFleur and selected quarterback Carson Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, signaling a potential change in direction at the position.<\/p>

Looking at his broader career, Brissett holds an overall record of 20-45 as a starting quarterback across six different NFL teams. The bulk of his starting experience came with the Indianapolis Colts from 2016 to 2019, where he made 30 starts. Fifteen of those came in 2017 when Andrew Luck was sidelined with an injury, and another 15 followed in 2019 after Luck made a surprise retirement just before the season began.<\/p>

Across 101 career games, Brissett has thrown for 14,766 yards, 76 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions. Notably, his interception rate of 1.4 percent is tied with Aaron Rodgers for the lowest in NFL history.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
