San Diego FC made a notable roster move Friday, locking up Tunisian national team player Elias Achouri on a contract that runs through the 2028-29 season.<\/p>

The 27-year-old, who plays both forward and midfielder, will need to clear a visa hurdle before he can officially suit up for the club.<\/p>

Achouri was a consistent presence for Tunisia at the recently wrapped-up World Cup, appearing in all three of the nation’s group-stage contests. Over his international career, he has recorded four goals across 33 appearances for Tunisia.<\/p>

San Diego FC sporting director Tyler Heaps expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition in a news release. “We’re excited to welcome Elias to San Diego FC,” Heaps said. “He is a player with experience competing at a high level in both European club competitions and on the international stage, and we believe he’ll be a strong addition to our group.”<\/p>

Heaps added that the signing aligns with the team’s broader ambitions. “This signing reflects our continued commitment to building a roster that can compete at the highest level, and we’re looking forward to integrating Elias into our environment.”<\/p>
