LeBron James made it official on Friday, announcing that he will suit up for the Philadelphia 76ers during his record-breaking 24th season in the NBA.<\/p>

The all-time leading scorer in league history spent the past eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he helped the franchise win a championship in 2020. Before that, James had two separate stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers and spent four seasons with the Miami Heat.<\/p>

In a post on social media, James explained his motivations for this final chapter of his career. “This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win and to have a chance at the feeling of winning another championship,” he wrote.<\/p>

He also expressed enthusiasm about joining his new team, adding, “I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.”<\/p>

At 41 years old, James continues to perform at an elite level. Last March, he broke Robert Parish’s record for the most regular-season games played in NBA history.
