*Update- Suspect Arrested* Detectives Investigating Armed Robbery at Pat’s Pizza in North Wilmington

Delaware State Police arrested 33-year-old Nigel Sykes of Wilmington, Delaware, for an armed robbery that occurred earlier this month at Pat’s Pizza in Wilmington.

On March 10, 2024, at approximately 10:12 p.m., troopers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Pat’s Pizza located at 1815 Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington. A preliminary investigation revealed a black male suspect armed with a handgun approached an employee as he was locking up and demanded the employee provide him with money from the business. As the employee complied, the suspect pulled the landline telephone wire out from the wall and stole the employee’s cell phone. The suspect then fled southbound on Philadelphia Pike with an undisclosed amount of cash and the employee’s cell phone.

Through investigative means, Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Detectives developed Nigel Sykes as the suspect involved in the robbery and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On March 19, 2024, Sykes was taken into custody at the Plummer Center located at 38 Todds Lane, Wilmington. Sykes was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with the offenses listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $106,000 cash bond.
