Delaware State Police have arrested 38-year-old Duonne Green of Seaford, Delaware, for felony gun offenses and DUI following a traffic stop in Ellendale.
On September 9, 2025, at approximately 10:32 p.m., a trooper on patrol saw a white Hyundai Sonata traveling on South Old State Road and New Hope Road with the driver not wearing a seatbelt. A computer check showed that registration on the car was suspended for no insurance. The trooper initiated a traffic stop and spoke to the driver, later identified as Duonne Green. While troopers spoke to Green, he showed multiple signs of impairment. After he was asked to exit the car, troopers saw a handgun in his pocket and detained him without incident. A computer check showed that Green is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm and/or ammunition and has a suspended driver’s license.
Green was taken to Troop 7, where he refused Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $21,202 cash bond.
- Possession of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon Within 10 Years of Prior Conviction of Any Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited Prior Violent Crime or Felony (Felony)
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon A Firearm (Felony)
- Driving Under the Influence
- Possession of a Firearm While Under the influence
- Driving While Suspended or Revoked
- Fictitious or Cancelled Registration Card, Number Plate, or Tag
- Seatbelt Violation
