Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon at a smoke shop in Dover.
On April 12, 2025, at approximately 2:06 p.m., troopers responded to Smoke Beast, located at 220 Gateway South Boulevard, for a report of an attempted robbery. A preliminary investigation revealed that a male suspect had entered the store earlier that day before returning, pointing a handgun at the employee, and demanding merchandise. The employee did not comply, and the suspect fled the store without taking any items.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male wearing dark clothing, including a mask and gloves. He fled on foot in a northern direction.
Delaware State Police Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate this incident. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact Detective M. Williams at (302) 698-8502.
