State Police Investigating Armed Robbery Outside Newark Dunkin’

Delaware State Police is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon in Newark.

On July 5, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., troopers responded to Dunkin’, located at 48 Geoffrey Drive, for a reported robbery. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 32-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk outside the business when an unknown male suspect approached her, placed a knife to her throat, and demanded her belongings. The victim complied and handed over her purse to the suspect. The suspect then fled on foot. The victim was not physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s with short dreadlocks. He was wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident. Surveillance videos and images are not yet available.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit continues to investigate this incident. Anyone with relevant information about this case is asked to contact Detective D.
