State Police Arrest Two Teens for Multiple Burglaries in First State Plaza

The Delaware State Police arrested two 14-year-old males, both from Wilmington, Delaware, for multiple burglaries that occurred at businesses within First State Plaza in Wilmington last week.

Beginning on May 4, 2025, at approximately 5:08 a.m., troopers responded to Kumamon Ramen2, located at 1724 West Newport Pike, Wilmington, for a report of a burglary. The preliminary investigation revealed 2 masked suspects entered the business during the overnight hours, and stole cash and various items from within. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction with the stolen property.

On May 6, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., troopers again responded to Kumamon Ramen2 for a report of a burglary of a similar nature as the one on May 4, 2025. The preliminary investigation revealed 2 masked suspects forcibly entered the business during the overnight hours, and attempted to steal cash from the cash register. The suspects were unsuccessful, and fled in an unknown direction after having caused several hundred dollars in damage.

On May 7, 2025, at approximately 3:47 a.m., troopers responded to Cinemark Movies 10, located at 1796 West Newport Pike, Wilmington, for a report of 2 suspicious persons checking vehicle door handles in the parking lot. Responding troopers were then notified that the suspects had been observed entering the movie theater. Upon arriving, a trooper observed the suspects within the movie theater, and entered the business to make contact. As the trooper approached, the suspects disregarded verbal commands from the trooper, and fled from the movie theater towards a nearby wooded area. Officers from the New Castle County Police Department assisted troopers with canvassing the area for the suspects, and ultimately located one of the suspects, identified as a 14-year-old male. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The second suspect was not located.

The suspect was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with multiple crimes. Through investigative means, Troop 2 Property Crimes Detectives identified the second suspect as a 14-year-old male, and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On May 12, 2025, the second 14-year-old suspect turned himself in at Troop 2, and was charged with multiple crimes.


On May 7, 2025, the first 14-year-old suspect was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by New Castle County Family Court, and released to his guardian on a $10,500 unsecured bond.

  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Attempted to Commit Theft Under $1,500
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – 2 counts
  • Resisting Arrest

On May 12, 2025, the second 14-year-old suspect was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by New Castle County Family Court, and released to his guardian on a $1,500 unsecured bond.

  • Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
