Delaware State Police arrested 36-year-old Dion Garner of Preston, Maryland, a 17-year-old male from Cambridge, Maryland, and a 17-year-old male from Delmar, Maryland, on multiple felony gun charges following an investigation Wednesday night in Bridgeville.
On April 9, 2025, at approximately 9:56 p.m., troopers responded to the McDonald’s located at 18733 Sussex Highway for a report of individuals in a white car allegedly waving firearms at patrons.
Troopers located a white Mazda in the parking lot with three males associated with the vehicle. As troopers arrived, one of the suspects walked away from the scene. Troopers retraced the path he had taken through the parking lot and located a loaded firearm with an extended magazine hidden between parked vehicles. With help from the Bridgeville Police Department, troopers searched the area and apprehended the 17-year-old from Cambridge after a foot pursuit. He physically resisted arrest and was ultimately taken into custody.
The front passenger, later identified as the 17-year-old from Delmar, attempted to flee on foot. He actively resisted arrest and struggled with troopers during apprehension, which resulted in damage to a trooper’s uniform pants. A loaded firearm was recovered from his waistband. He also initially provided a false name and date of birth.
The rear passenger, identified as Dion Garner, was taken into custody without incident. A loaded firearm was found in a bag on the floor of the vehicle directly in front of Garner’s seat, near his feet. A computer check revealed the firearm was reported stolen within the jurisdiction of the New Kensington Police Department in Pennsylvania. An additional inquiry also revealed that Garner had active warrants for his arrest. Garner, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
All three suspects were taken to Troop 5, where they were each charged with multiple crimes.
Garner was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $52,500 secured bond.

The 17-year-old male from Cambridge, Maryland, was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on a $43,000 secured bond.
